Just getting started – This group of runners make their way to mile marker two during the Gas Mask Dash.

The 3rd annual Gas Mask Dash brought 250 runners and walkers from around the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Chemical Biological Center and the community together for a 5K race and 2 mile walk.

The course started at the pavilion at Capa Field on Aberdeen Proving Ground South, winding its way around Post and back to Capa Field.

Men, women, children and even a few four legged companions tackled the course and had a great time, even with gray skies, a rain shower here and there and cooler temperatures.

Winning the race for the men, with a time of 17 minutes, 12 seconds, was Gunpowder, Maryland resident Zach Schroeder, who recorded the fastest overall time as well.
