Munitions Assessment and Processing System
Munition Assessment and Processing System (MAPS) is a fixed facility composed of specialized glove boxes, drilling and cutting hardware, explosive containment chambers, and negative pressure filtration systems housed within a 9000 square foot support facility designed with requisite decontamination control line, sanitary facilities, control and monitoring rooms, and materials/wastes storage area. The system is designed to receive and process a wide variety of stable, explosively and non-explosively configured chemical munitions stored in the existing N-Field waste munitions storage magazine remotely located within APG’s Edgewood range area.
