U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM Chemical Biological Center) combines a highly skilled workforce with a unique cache of laboratories and facilities to test CB defense products against a variety of dangerous chemical and biological agents and toxic compounds.

The Center performs bench-scale to systems testing in laboratory, chamber and range settings on systems and products such as individual and collective protection, contamination avoidance and decontamination materials, component and systems testing.

DEVCOM Chemical Biological Center owns and operates a one-of-a-kind collection of laboratories and chambers for any CBRNE defense program, including most of the nation’s chemical surety hoods; BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories; a unique group of chambers that allows an entire system, rather than individual components, to be tested while fully immersed in chemical agent; and the only facility in the nation that enables large-scale tests of equipment and vehicles with chemical agent and explosives simultaneously.
